How is the water where you are at? Do you live by muddy Louisiana or in clear water North Carolina?
If you live by really clear water then maybe you can get by with a headlamp. Don't forget that the bugs will be dive-bombing your face all night.
If I were you, I would hook up a strong set of lights with some car batteries. Can you get some car head lamps and wire them to some batteries? A good deep cycle battery from wal-mart is only 65.00, and headlamps are also cheap. Be creative!
Then hang them over the water, you can stick a pole in the ground in the water or hang them from a tree branch- then stand on the side and shoot away...

a good 2,000,000 spotlight works good, especially if its lightweight. not the most convenient, but if ur goin with another person it seems to work better cause of the brightness. if ur by urself a headlamp is the way to go! (especially if its bright)

What we started out with was one of those old bicycle head lights that clamp on to the handle bars. We clamped it to the back of our fishing reels. Just be carefull that your line doesn't get caught in it or any other light you might attach to your bow.

the spotlight is a good idea but it will only last for about 30 mins a better way is to carry a lantern but i gaurentee you wont be able to hold that coleman for very long.. trust me i do it all the time
