I have herd of people bowfishing in the winter months and I was wondering how does this work because I want to give it a try, I heard that you go to areas on the lake where the creeks and rivers flow in at and this is where the carp will be. or you look for where warm water is discharging in at, and these areas will typically have little to no ice so you can shot from shore or shoot from the edge of the ice, and I was kind of wondering is this true is this the way to do it? and If you read in my last topic legal or not, i said I shoot in a lagoon by my house do you think this would be a good spot in the winter and if there is any michingan bowfishers out there can you tell me where some good winter and spring hot spots are I live in Bay city.

We don't shoot in the warm water discharges. What we look for is open water in the ice, preferably where a river (stream) enters the lake. Even the shallower rivers are good for finding fish.
