Cut a 1 by 12 cedar board about 14" long. preheat oven to 322 degrees, lay turtle on the board flat side down, cook for 3 hours, take out throw turtle away & eat the board.

If you're in Florida, I think you'll find the season opens opens August 1st, not 7/30.
Billy has his grinnel recipe and his turtle recipe mixed up. Turtles can be good. Softshells and their eggs can be overharvested, though, in some areas.

I'LL DANG SURE LOOK AGAIN BEFORE I GO BUT I JUST CHECKED AND I THOUGHT IT WAS 7/30, BUT THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP SWAMP FOX! I DANG SURE GOT A BUNCH IN MY LAKE I KNOW THAT, I HAD A BUNCH OF TALAPIA AND I THINK THEY'VE EATIN EM ALL! I DONT MIND HAVING AND FEEDING A COUPLE BUT THERE EATIN ALL MY GOOD STOCKED FISH, I WOULDNT EVEN MIND JUST MOVIN THEM TO ANOTHER POND/LAKE BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW TO CATCH IT WITHOUT HURTING IT

When i lived in FL.i couldnt find a mudd hole that didnt have soft shells in it .Bait stelling #@$#%#@,son of a guns!!!.Great eating though!!.Watch out though,they are VERY aggresive,and have a looooonge neck,and can take off fingers easly.pan.
