Where do carp generally stay at day, once they are done spawning? What time of day is best?

I know bowfishing after the spawn during the day isn't ideal, but I don't want to spend $100s on lights, generators ect. for night bowfishing.

Thanks!

You can still find them in the shallows. Not in the numbers like the spawn but they're there.

they r pretty much everywhere around here (southern wisconsin). We have hot spots in shallow rivers with lots of cattails, but later at night, right before dark they r all over on the lakes sucking on top of the water. same thing with early morning. day time is fun, but night time is a blast. we dont use a lot of gear with lights, just a couple 10-20$ spotlights. (we have a converter though so they hook up to a battery) works good for us

What candle power do you use? I have no idea how powerful they need to be...

we have a 2 million that works pretty good, thats usually what we hook up to the battery or cigarrette lighter in the boat. we have a 10 mil too, but we lost the plug in for it so it lasts like 45 minutes. we had an AWSOME 3 mil but it broke. lit up a BIG circle, but had a good focused beam about 3 feet in diameter. i think 2 or 3 mil is a good direction to go in, get a lightweight one, if u have an old battery use that and they sell these converters that hook up to the battery (the alligator clams) and then the other end there is a cigarrette lighter plug in. this set up has never died on us when out in the boat. if ur lookin to do a whole nighter without the sound/expence of a generator, its the way to go.
