Ok, well next week I'm heading up to Wisconsin for vacation. Going to be out on Spider lake and that chain near Minocqua. Anyone have any helpful tips on bowfishing those parts?

I'm really inexperienced, have only been a few times with no success yet.

I will have a boat available if that helps.

Thanks in advance!

wellll i live in southernish wisconsin, and right now they r totally done spawning, however, if u go out at night right before dark they r usually sucking on top of the water (on calm days) u pretty much just drive around till u see some stuff on top of the water and its them! schools of hundreds!:0 or u could go out at night with lights and shine the shallows there r prolly some still cruisin

Nice...thanks for the info

Are there other good bowfishing targets in WI lakes that anyone knows of? I've seen some incredible pics of alligator gar but don't know anything specifically.

I live in Price county about 1 hour away from Minoqua and it is illegal to bowfish here. I would make sure of their rules.

yeah i dont think theres any alligator gar round here, but theres some pretty nice needle nose gar, if ur lookin for some of them, find a dam that goes into a river and go around there on a HOT day... should be perfect for yeh its been like 90s here lately
