Well where back!
No one drown, and we shot some fish. We didn't get the monster we where looking for but we learned a lot. I would like to thank Mudfish for taking the time to bring his rig down to take me on my first shark hunt. Maybe next year we'll get a bigger one

We stopped at Bubba Gump's and picked up 85lbs of fresh caught shrimp
Momma was very pleased she said I can go again anytime I want, as long as I keep bringing home the shrimp.

The last night we went out we got a few red fish and something like 8 or 10 flounder. What a pain in the azz it is trying to figure out if a fish is between 17"-25". You can't shoot a red fish under 17" and you can't shoot any red fish over 25". I'd draw and mudfish would go NOPE to big< Nope to small
We didn't gt any pics of the redfish or flounder but I got about an hour of video

It was a lota fun. How we know what to look for and how to work the tide ( thanks to mudfish )where difinitely going to go again
Mudfish said around july the sharks are every where down there. We where really at the tail end of the season. I guess they follow the blue carbs and when they are in heavy the sharks are in heavy. your more then welcome to go next year if you can make it down parker.

Maybe I've seen Jaws too many times and maybe because I've been a freshwater, land loving Upstate NY'er most of my life but when you said you didn't get a "monster" I didn't expect you'd be holding a little skipper of a fish.
Did he have his teeth yet?
Sounds like you and Jimbo had a great experience and Jim looks great now that's he's finally shaved and got himself a haircut. Jim posing in front of his laptop looking all professional was a nice touch.
I think you two are ready for the Sportsman's Channel, maybe the 2 a.m. time slot but you're ready!
Good luck to you and Jim this season Mink!

i don't think i would go with whopper.
Bob it was a good time i think it is time to upgrade to a bigger boat and i will probably do it more often,it is alot better than trying to shoot fish in this choco pudding they call water here in GA.

Mink,
I'm no Jacques Cousteau (he's dead right?) but when someone says "shark" I don't imagine the species is the 48" variety.
On my honeymoon for example I was snorkeling in Bermuda on some reef. Down below was Hammerhead (ugly lookin thing) cruising below me. Of course I did everything wrong. I freaked, thrashed around trying to scurry up the closest corral (cut myself to shreds) and waited there until one of the lifeguards paddled his inflatable out to get me.
You and I have shot carp bigger than that mud puppy.
I fish for walleye so what would I know? Answer=Not much.

I am from Charleston (now in Savannah). I flats fish a lot for redfish or... spot tail bass as the locals call em...
Anyway, in July as you say... a lot more sharks in the shallows. From time to time, you see a BIG one. Way too big for a bow and I don't care if you use weedeater line

Bigger the better. Big sharks take arrows and floats. But they can be had. If theres more in july then I'll be there. I had fun shootin salt water and will probably do more in the future
