Haven't seen the vid Parker but the Illinois River runs through N.E. Oklahoma and is a very popular spot for bowfishing as they have some huge asian carp there. They aslo snag for huge spoonbill (ancient paddlefish)there. The river runs though the mountainous region of OK, though the Ozarks, right through Tahlequah (Cherokee Nation capitol). I'll have to check out the vid when I get time at work (on dialup here)

Anytime buddy. I been wanting to float the Illinois for quite sometime myself. Never been bowfishing before but I love to kayak. The Illinois is "the" river to kayak in OK. Really popular vacation spot.

Parker..When I went to Peoria with dpm last month we stayed a night right on the banks of the Illinois River. That was a real scenic place and Firenock told me about the giant carp they have in there..

Starved Rock is where I plan to go this summer and I know there are plendy of silvers there jumping out of the water, knocking people off skis etc.

If and when I get my boat up and running, we'll have to get together for a carping trip!

That's the most info I've seen in one place regarding the carp problem. Thanks JC, very informative.

As devastating as these fish are BowFishers are still being assaulted by radical PETA types. I didn't catch all of the situation, but one of the admins of Illinois Bowfishing were being harrased by someone from this type of group. Last I heard, he had a brick thrown through his window I believe. Not sure what became of that though.

I'd love to head down to Bath and take a few swings at those jumpers myself I say that's a great activity to keep our youth out of trouble. Instead of mailbox baseball now they can play carp baseball

I have seen the video, only problem I seen was shooting toward the fish and hitting a fellow boater.
