ur off to a good start i personally recommend an AMS retriever (the thing with the big white plastic bottle) and either garpoon tips or muzzy stingray tips. they both work awsome and each have their advantages. the stingray tips are easy to remove from the fish (all u gotta do is spin the arrow a little) but sometimes unscrew and release a fish when ur bringing it in. the garpoons shouldnt let the fish go as long as u get enough penetration, but arnt as handy-dandy in getting out of the fish either once its in the boat. if u can mount the trolling motor to the front of ur boat so u can shoot and drive easier, thats kinda nice too. a good pair of polarized sunglasses are a big plus too. when u go out, just shoot at garbage and stuff in the water if u dont see any fish. its really good practice and u even get to clean up the water a little bit watch out for rocks though!good luck and happy fishin!

You need slide from AMS if you use the AMS reel. I use Warhead points. I get most of my bowfishing stuff here: http://www.sullysbowfishing.com/ !
I am a reel guy so I have many types Zebco, Shakespear Synergy, Muzzy and one not made any more.
You can do a DC light on the bow the cheapest.
