Go to Bowfishusa.com and check out the forum sections (there is one just for boats and other things typical to bow fishing like lighting) and the gallery sections. You'll find lots of good pictures to see how others have set up their boats.

Make it as light as you can afford.

That way the boat can run as shallow as possible.

You'll need to come up to AL in April for the Muzzy Classic

Mink, I may try and make it to that...it's only about 5 hours from me. I've been there fishing (spin) years ago, it is a neat lake.

Mudduck: Here is a couple pictures of a friend's boat...

That would awesome WB

Luke

Building decks like the one shown are a lot of work and expensive. Aluminum isn't cheap but thats cheap compared to having someone welding it up for you.

So unless you got a lot of extra cash laying around and a tig welder hiding in your back pocket you'll just have to keep dreamin

I'd like to maybe have a removeable deck..instead of dedicating my boat to just bowfishing..do some of the bowfishing fanatics do that?
Mink Response #16 posted 12/29/2006 06:15 PM EST.
JB

Yes some of them can come off easy enough. It's all what your looking for.
Alex Response #17 posted 12/29/2006 06:15 PM EST.
Our was removable JB.

Yep me too.
JB Response #20 posted 12/29/2006 06:24 PM EST.
yea..I can see welding support brackets to bolt the deck to..I'd love to introduce my boys to bowfishing..I really think it would be awesome, especially with all the places we got around here to do it..I don't want to hijack this thread but where can I get all that info about rigging up generators and the lighting for the boat? Also do any of you have a good source to buy 12volt sealed beam bulbs? Thanks..
Alex Response #21 posted 12/29/2006 06:26 PM EST.
Sorry. No more hijacking.

I knew there would be a bar stool involved....
Alex Response #23 posted 12/29/2006 06:43 PM EST.
LOL - believe it or not the stool was to keep the captain's back from breaking. The trolling motor foot control was great to have on the deck but after 5 -8 hours of lifting one foot and steering against the current (with a floating building i might add), you're back tends to scream in pain.

Always wanted to build in a pivot chair but just never got around to it.

Just standing in one spot for 12 hours will cripple a healthy man

God I love the Muzzy Classic
Wild Bob Response #25 posted 01/02/2007 05:26 PM EST.
JB: I'm working on a small raised deck that will go on my duck hunting/fishing boat right now...It is designed to take it off and on so that I don't have to just use the boat for that also. The biggest hassle in taking it off and on is messin' with the lights.
