Norfolk Island Open Field Archery Championships

The 2nd Norfolk Island Open Field Archery Championships will be held from 5 to 9 July 2004, including the inaugural “Norfolk Jet Super Six Shoot Out”.
The Association of Norfolk Island Archers will run the competition which will include Compound (Open, Sighted and Barebow), Recurve (Sighted and Barebow) and Longbow Divisions, and Cub, Junior, Senior Men and Senior Women Grades, on MacKensie and Australian style targets.
A highlight of the event will be the Norfolk Jet Super Six Shoot Out on 9 July, which will see the six highest scoring senior competitors shoot-off for the chance to win two return airfares from Norfolk Jet, in the grounds of beautiful and historic St. Barnabas Chapel.
All archery events will take place in the morning, allowing competitors and their families to explore Norfolk Island for the remainder of each day.
Archery has been a popular sport on Norfolk Island since 1997, when a keen band of archers started the Association of Norfolk Island Archers, and now the Island boasts 21 3D targets, and a 12 target FITA (International Archery Federation) field course.
