My First Buck

It was the first day of my bow season. My dad and I walked into the stand about 5:30 am, at about 6:15 a doe runs out in the field. I thought to myself, get ready here she comes, my first deer, right now. About 10 minutes later she runs off.
My dad gets out of my 2 person treestand and tells me he is going to push a little, he leaves about 6:45. I look carefully and see nothing for a few hours. I was thinking my dad would get here and then we would go home and wait till tomorow to go back out. Well, I turn slowly and see a bush move. I said to myself, yes, a deer, it will be my first, right now. About 20 minutes later, I find out it was just a bunch af birds.
I turn to hang my bow back up, and out of the corner of my eye I saw 1 deer. Soon enough it went from 1 to 5, adding the biggest was in the front, I raised the bow, pulled back at full draw and let go. The arrow flies over the neck, oh man, I just ruined my only shot at a deer. The deer runs about 5 yards, then starts feeding again, talk about good luck. I raise and think, ok, put this arrow where it belongs, in the deer. I pull back, aim, release, and, pow, it hits. YES!! I did it, I shot my first deer!
I tie my bow to the rope and tell my dad, after I calm down, that I shot one. We were both proud. We went on the blood trail for about 2 hours and did not see anything. It was getting dark and we went to the truck to get a flashlight, my dad and his friend, Paul, yell to me to hurry up that they found something of mine. I ran to them, and to my surprise, they found my deer. I thought it was a doe, but, hey, it was a buck. I am very proud of what I can do and did.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR HUNTS. |
