One thing the staff here at BowCountry.com can say about our site visitors is they are vocal about what they like and don't like. We've been hearing for some time now archers want to believe all the manufacturer's hype about their products. Unfortunately, after years of crying wolf and outright deception by some, our visiting archers tell us it gets harder and harder to believe some of the archery manufacturer's specifications and marketing "spin".
Fear no more! We'll conduct extensive field testing and pounding on the product. If the product holds up to the hype and we believe it will benefit you, the consumer, then it will get a place of honor here! If not, well it's back to the manufacturer for some much needed feedback from qualified testing staff.
We hope you enjoy "BowCountry Picks!" and if you agree or disagree with us then, by all means, speak up!
"Firenocks"
Lighted nocks have been around for a while now but Firenocks are relatively new to the lighted nock market. Making their debut in the fall of 2006, Firenock has been setting the bow hunting world on fire, so to speak.
"Atom Broadheads"
The Atom did exactly what it was suppose to do. It flew just like a field Point. It entered thru the front shoulder plate, continued thru the chest cavity & vitals and exited out the other side of the rib cage cleanly.
"Muzzy MX-4"
As most of our loyal patrons know, BowCountry.com has always had an appreciation for products with the Muzzy name on them. While speaking with new chief operating officer Fred Settles at this years ATA show about Muzzy's New 4 blade broadhead the MX-4. We knew Muzzy had hit home once again.
| "HHA Sports LP-3
Back Tension Release"
Recently the BowCountry Team got the opportunity to take a look a HHA Sports new wrist style back tension release, model LP-3. As you can see from the pictures, the LP-3 is very different compared to most wrist style release aids. |
"HHA Sports OL-5000
Optimizer-Lite Bow Sight"
The team at BowCountry.com would have to say that if you are in the market for a new sight then you need to check out the OL-5000. This sight is very well built with exceptional functionality and will provide many years of use.
"Grow Em Right" by Craig and Neil Dougherty
This work is so “portable” in every literal and figurative sense of the word; the book begs to be smudged with the soil of your next food plot!
Innovative Treestand Systems Leveler 1
In my opinion, hang on tree stands are an acquired taste. Generally speaking, they're not as versatile as a climber, which can be thrown on basically any reasonably stable but straight tree. When the sun comes up and you realize you made a mistake you climb down and move.
Copper John Eagle
Right out of the box this relatively new player in the archery industry made a name for itself. The “Dead Nuts” series of pin sights has quickly become a standard in a relatively short period of time.
The SISCO Sling!
If you'll never, ever be interested in using a bow sling, stop reading. Go no further. If you like the idea of a bow sling but you've been disappointed because they are uncomfortable, or they break at exactly the wrong time, or you're unfamiliar, then read on.
The Gladder Bladder Psst! A Personal Secret!
When Mark Olsen, the President of Field Sports Solutions, Inc., manufacturers of the Gladder Bladder, contacted BowCountry.com to perform a Test and Tune review on his product our reaction was like a nosey neighbor asking you if you have hemorrhoids. Gladder Bladder? Kind of personal and nobody's business.
Whisker Biscuit: Truth in Advertising!
Archers are a fiercely loyal and independent bunch. One quick look at any given subject in our BowCountry.com forums shows that lots of debates and heated discussions are digitally waged on a daily basis.
Muzzy Zero Effect
There’s been a lot of debate on the forums about the different types of drop away rests available today. I’ve had the opportunity to shoot the Muzzy Zero Effect for more than a year now.
Jennings Trophy Master - Big Tech/Affordable Sticker
A few months ago, I received a call from our editor Bob Peck. Bob
told me he was going to be sending me a Jennings Trophy Master for test and evaluation.
Mathews Legacy Could Be Just That!
It seems to be our experience that no matter what we do here at BowCountry.com to express our impartiality towards the product review process the old adage "you can't please all the people all the time"....
Copper John Dead Nuts Pro
Copper John is one of those manufacturers who believe in the products they make.
Trophy Ridge Matrix
We began to notice that some of our loyal site visitors and archers were asking us to review the Matrix, a new sight by Trophy Ridge.
Bodoodle's Timberdoodle Rest
The Timberdoodle rest is designed specifically for finger shooters. Believe it or not, there are still finger shooters out there and their choices are limited compared to release shooters.
Leven Industries Doinker 7" Hunter Stabilizer
Stabilizers come in a variety of lengths, designs, and characteristics. What’s the best way to know which will work for you?
The Soft Loc Quiver is Hard to Beat!
The Soft Loc one-piece quiver system is actually three (3) pieces.
Hogg It Sight from Spot-Hogg Archery
The "Hogg It" sight is feature rich. The sight actually is several different models of the same sight.
EOTech Model 520 Holographic Bow Scope
This Month the BowCountry.com crew is reviewing EOTech Model 520 Holographic bow scope sighting system.
Arrow Starr Climber - Attention To Detail Adds Up!
If the 15.5 pounds total weight, the sure-footed "climbing claws", the Flex Bar cable system, the liberal use of waterproof/scent proof closed cell foam,.....
Parker Ultra-Lite 31 -- The silent "player" in the business speaks up!
As far as we are concerned this is the greatest short axle bow we have tested.
BuckMasters G2!
Great Looking -- Great Shooting -- Great Price -- Great Idea!....
Mathews SQ2!
Mention the name Mathews and you are likely to either enter a spirited smack down debate with a fellow archer or enter a meaningful and esoteric discussion on harmonic dampening....
Lone Wolf Tree stands for the Masses!
Rarely does the BowCountry.com test team come across a product that we all immediately agree on....
