Triton Rich - 09/14/2013 So besides my little target panic problem, I also have another problem. Last year on my elk hunt, we were doing some midday practice shooting. I decided to try some between pin distances. Now I know I should have been practicing this all along but I wasn't. Kind of like I should be exercising every day! Anyway, I really struggled with it. I don't mean just high and low, I couldn't hit anywhere near the bullseye. It almost seems like another form of target panic, I couldn't concentrate on both holding between pins and a clean release at the same time. I did figure out, however, that if I "measured" the holdover by centering the pins and then concentrated aiming with the upper pin, I was much more accurate. How do you guys do it? 2.) Ohbuckhunter - 09/14/2013 That's what I do as well. I use the upper pin a Lil high. I'm going back to single pin after this season. 3.) billy b - 09/14/2013 Same here, I aim between pins then look at what the upper pin is aiming at & concentrate on just the upper pin. 4.) Since all of my kill shots thus far have been 20y and in, I haven't needed the other pins yet anyway. Are you thinking just a single pin or a slider sight? I'm thinking a slider for deer hunting. I figure if I ever get a long shot, I should have time to adjust the sight anyway. I would switch back to the 5 pin for elk hunting since the ranges are likely to be longer. It's something to think about anyway. 5.) Ohbuckhunter - 09/14/2013 I'm thinking a slider http://www.bowhunterssuperstore.com/spot-hogg-hogg-father-sight-small-guard-p-1877460.html?osCsid=84bf74b103534361dec3ece0f1b6cd89 I like the way there built. I like the way they adjust. I don't like the price tag 6.) Triton Rich - 09/14/2013 Holy Crap, that is quite a price tag! I'll likely be looking for a more budget friendly solution! :re: 7.) crookedeye - 09/15/2013 somtimes my target panic gets so bad its like i'm having a seizure, plus i get a twitch in my left check.. 8.) Deerminator - 09/16/2013 I never had that problem. If it was like a 25 yd shot I put the bull's eye/deer in the middle and sent the arrow. Same at 35yds. I'm thinking that you are shooting a speed bow so ya shouldn't have that much problem. Just some practice at judging yardage. Now if your trying to hit X rings like that way it might be kinda tough. 9.) bluecat - 09/16/2013
somtimes my target panic gets so bad its like i'm having a seizure, plus i get a twitch in my left check..
Is that what the kids call twerking? |
